The Lindenwood Lady Lions' tennis team traveled to Lebanon, Missouri to take on the McKendree Bearcats on Tuesday afternoon and the Lions lost, 6-3.
On the doubles side of the dual, McKendree won two of three matches. The Lady Lions' number one doubles duo of Allison Giles and
Sarah Sharpe fell to Adriana Gonzalez and Giuliana Gonzalez 8-1. The Lions' number three team of
Rachel Bailey and
Elise Beckemeier loss to Liz Otto and Allison Holloway, 8-2. In the Lions lone doubles win,
Adela Slovakova and
Raminta Kazemekaityte beat the Bearcat duo of Emily Cimarolli and Nathalia Oliveira, 9-7.
The Lady Lions were able to win two of the six singles matches led by Slovakova who beat Gonzalez 6-3, 7-5. Slovakova's doubles partner, Kazemekaityte, was also victorious 6-3, 7-5 over Cimarolli. McKendree would win the remaining four singles matches to win the dual.
With the loss the Lady Lions dropped their dual record to 1-2 and will compete at the ITA Regional Tournament over the weekend.
