The Lindenwood track and field teams had a successful weekend at the SASF Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois-Carbondale.

The men's side finished with six top 10 finishes, led by Javon Claxton who finished eighth in the 200 meter dash and ninth in the 400 meter dash. Noe Hernandez was second in the men's 800 meter dash and Michael Aitken finished 15th in the mile run. Austin Blake was 17th in the men's 3000 meter dash.

Ryan Brinker had his second straight top five finish, placing fourth in the pole vault competition and Jim Freeman finished fifth and ninth in the shot put and weight throw respectively.

On the women's side, the top individual performance belonged to Kristal Jackson who placed 18th in the weight throw. Sarah Talimonchuk was 19th in the pole vault for the Lions.

The women's 4x400 meter relay team finished 18th and Melissa Yount was 28th in the 800 meter dash.

The Lindenwood track and field teams will compete at the Iowa State Open next weekend.
