Track and Field Teams Have Solid Weekends

The Lindenwood men's and women's track and field teams had strong showings at the 2010 Snowbird Open hosted by Illinois College.

The women finished fifth out of 15 teams with 49.00 total points and the men were eighth out of 16 teams with 31.00 points.

The top individual performances belonged to Nick Orf who won the shot put event and Jessica Ching who was first in the 3000 meter walk. 

On the women's side, Ashlee Dorsett finished second in the 55 meter dash and Kelsey Henke was fourth in the 400 meter dash. Yasmina Elkasmi finished seventh in the 3000 meter run.

In the field events, Sarah Talimonchuk placed second in pole vault and Kristal Jackson was seventh in the weight throw.

On the men's side, Dominique Johnson had third place finishes in both the high jump and the long jump, and Orf added a sixth place finish in the weight throw.

Duane Whitaker posted a sixth place finish in the 55 meter hurdles and Dwayne Ferguson was also sixth in the 400 meter dash. Keith Hernandez finished 14th in that same event.

Other members of the track and field programs competed at the Iowa State Open and the Eastern Illinois Mega Meet.
