Lindenwood Wins Three Events At Titan Open

The Lindenwood track and field teams won three events at the Illinois Wesleyan Titan Open on Saturday, and both squads had a top three finish.

Kaitlin Moore won the women's lone title on the day after taking first place in the long jump. Bruno Boccalotta was first in the men's weight throw, and the men's 4x400 relay team had the fastest time at the event.

Lidnewood's women had bronze finishes in four events at the meet with Rachel Hemphill in the 400m, China Moore in the 55m hurdles, Sarah Talimonchuk in the pole vault, and the 4x400 relay team. Jan Bennett finished fourth in the 400m, and fifth-place showings went to Amanda Leung in the pole vault and Irina Reinhardt in the weight throw.

Among the top five finishes on the men's side, Jim Freeman was runner-up in his shot put event. Third-place finishes went to Fabian Willskytt in the 400m and Ryan Brinker in the pole vault. Nicholas Yegon in the 800m, Dominique Johnson in the high jump, and Mitchell Heady in the weight throw all finished fifth in their respective events.

The Lions finished second in the team standings out of 16 squads, while the Lady Lions were third out of a 14 team field.
