Lindenwood's track teams competed in the Saluki Open this weekend in Carbondale, Illinois.
The men's side was led by Jim Freeman in the field events, where he finished third in the shot put and eighth in the weight throw. Ben McGraw represented well in the long-distance track events, placing 17th in the one mile run at 4:35.45 and 14th in the 3000-meter run at 9:14.47, both of which were season-best times for him. Jerome Gobert also achieved his best time of the season in 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.67 and placed eighth, while Wesley Barger was 15th in the 800-meter run.
The women's side was led by Keith Kotan, who placed 20th in the 200-meter dash at 26.50 and12th in the 400-meter at 1:00.20. Courtney Heidorn was 10th in the 800-meter at 2:27.19, while China Moore placed 12th after she jumped 1.55 meters in the high jump. All of these participants registered their season-best marks in their events.
The Lions return to action next weekend will they travel to Ames for the Iowa State Open.
