The Lindenwood women's track and field team captured the HAAC Indoor Championship, and the men's team finished second. The event was held in Lamoni, Iowa on both Friday and Saturday.
The women won the conference championship for the fourth consecutive year, netting 199.5 points. The Lady Lions managed to win 10 events in the two-day championship.
Individual champions included Keith Kotan in both the 200 meter dash and 400 meter dash,
Jessica Ching in the 3000 meter race walk, Celia Mboua in the triple jump and long jump, Terah Fullman in the 600 yard run, and Rachael Hemphill in the 800 meter run.
The women also snatched conference titles in the distance medley, 4x400 meter relay, and the 4x800 meter relay.
Other notable performances for the women included China Moore finishing second in the pentathlon, followed by Claudia Mieke in third. Moore also placed second in the 55 meter hurdles, while Keith Kotan finished second in the 55 meter dash followed by Cynthia Aoufoh in third. Aoufoh also finished second in the triple jump. Alexis Gutterman placed second to teammate Ching in the 3000 meter race walk. Kaitlin Moore placed third in the long jump, while Teneign Coulibaly finished second behind teammate Kotan in the 400 meter dash.
The men's side included five conference titles. Individual winners were David Lindemann in the 3000 meter race walk, Jim Freeman in the shot put, Jaleen White in the long jump, and Mike Reynoso in the 600 yard run.
Like the women, the men also grabbed a conference title in the 4x400 meter relay.
Notable performances for the men included Jerome Gobert finishing third in the heptathlon, Freeman placing second in the weight throw, followed by Mitchell Heady in third. Ryan Orallo finished third in the pole vault, while White and Demetrius Jackson finished second and third respectively in the triple jump. Bryan Kertz placed third in the shot put, while Dwayne Ferguson was second in the 400 meter dash. Also, Romain Menard finished third in the 600 yard run.
The men placed second behind winner Central Methodist, missing first by just 14 points.
