The Lindenwood men's volleyball team took down Hope International 3-1 on Saturday night in Fullerton, California. The Lions won with scores of 25-14, 25-19, 23-25, 25-16.
Lindenwood never trailed in the first game, pulling away midway through the set and winning by 11 points.
The second game was tied at 12-12 before the Lions took control and captured a 2-0 advantage in the match.
Game three belonged to the Royals, who went on a crucial 6-2 run with the game tied 10-10 and won their first set.
Lindenwood was able to close out Hope International in the fourth game, where the Lions never gave up the lead and pulled out a nine-point victory.
Leading Lindenwood in kills were
Bradley Johnston with 18 and
Mike Warren with 11.
Mike Larson provided 31 assists and
Carson Grissinger added 21 of his own. On the defensive end,
Mike Emerick had a team-high nine digs, and
Luke Knowlson recorded six blocks.
The Lions will return home on Tuesday to take on conference foe Missouri Baptist.
