The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team ended its Colorado road trip with a 14-11 win over Regis. The Lady Lions finished the road trip with a 3-1 record. Lindenwood also picked up its fourth win in four tries over NCAA Division II competition.
Lindenwood won the game thanks to winning an explosive first-half on the offensive side of the ball. The two teams combined for 19 first-half goals, including 11 by the Lady Lions. The defenses took control of the game in the second half, with both teams scoring just three times in the final 30 minutes.
Justine Groothuis led the team with six goals, and
Kara Cashen had three goals and two assists.
Lexi Crusha scored three times and
Kathryn St. George had two goals and two assists.
Christine Hehmeyer made seven saves in goal.
Lindenwood is now 7-2 on the season. The team is now off for nearly two weeks when it competes in the A-Town Throwdown in Athens, Ga.
