The Lindenwood women's tennis team swept McKendree 9-0 on Thursday, April 19 as the Lady Lions hosted the Bearcats in St. Charles, Mo.
Also in a transition year, McKendree did not win a match against the Lady Lions. During doubles competition,
Shreeja Karki and
Lindsey Wolfgang won their match 8-6 while the duo of
Rachel Bailey and
Sarah Sharpe defeated their opponents by a 9-7 score.
The Lady Lions jumped out to a dominating lead in the singles division as well.
Adela Slovakova won 6-2, 6-2 in the No.1 match while
Mariona Pinol was victorious with a 6-2, 6-1 score in the No. 2 match. Sharpe blanked her opponent in the No. 3 match and
Brigitte Bustamante won 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 4 match of the afternoon. Bailey and Wolfgang also competed in singles and won by walkover.
Both Lindenwood tennis teams will be back in action as it hosts William Jewell on Sat., April 21 in St. Charles, Mo. Matches are set to begin at 10 a.m.
