Box Score The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team concluded a perfect conference season on Sunday with a 19-7 victory at Colorado Mesa.
The contest was still in doubt until Lindenwood went on a 9-1 run over the first part of the second half. The Lady Lions led 16-4 after that spurt. Lindenwood had a 42-16 advantage on the day in shots, and a 43-21 edge in groundballs.
The trio of
Justiene Groothuis,
Kathryn St. George, and
Lexi Crusha scored 14 of Lindenwood's 19 goals. Groothuis had five goals and one assist, St. George scored five times, and Crusha had four goals and four assists.
Asia Woodside led the defense with two caused turnovers and seven groundballs.
Brittany Frankenfeld made six saves in goal and also had six groundballs.
Kara Cashen led the team with nine draw control victories.
Lindenwood ends its season on an 11-game winning streak, and it finishes the year with a 15-2 record. The Lady Lions won the WILA Championship with a perfect 8-0 mark.
