The Lindenwood track and field teams concluded its indoor regular season on Friday at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge hosted by the University of Missouri.
Tonya Chibanda led Lindenwood by winning the mile. She ran a time of 5:14.54, nearly two seconds better than the runner-up athlete. The other first-place finish was the distance medley relay team. The foursome of
Courtney Heidorn,
China Moore, Terah Fullman, and Chibanda won in a time of 12:50.47.
Fullman was runner-up in the 400m with a time of 58.57, just 0.02 seconds behind the winner. Other highlights on the women's side included two top-10 finishes by
China Moore and
Lindsey Blackwell. Moore was fourth in the 60m hurdles and seventh in the long jump, while Blackwell was fifth in the weight throw and eighth in the shot put.
On the men's side,
Mike Reynoso was the top finisher by coming in third in the 600m.
Bryan Kertz had multiple top-10 showings by coming in fifth in the weight throw and seventh in the shot put.
Lindenwood will compete in its first MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships next week in Warrensburg, Mo.
