Women's Lacrosse Tops Colorado Mesa

Box Score The Lady Lions lacrosse team won its second game in as many days on Saturday when they defeated Colorado Mesa 20-9. Lindenwood remains undefeated at 9-0 on the season and 4-0 in WILA play.

Shelby Polk led the way with a team-high six goals on the day. Her six goals are the most in a single game so far this season for a Lindenwood player. Polk also picked up two groundballs and earned four draw controls to cap off her stellar day.

A number of other Lions got in on the scoring action. Justiene Groothuis, Melissa Smith, Lindsey Palmer, Melissa Menchella and Maddi Ossello all pitched in with two goals apiece to help carry the load offensively for Lindenwood. Palmer and Smith added three assists each.

Goalie Christine Hehmeyer played all 60 minutes in net and made nine saves on 18 shots.

The Lady Lions travel to Durango, Colo. on Monday to take on Fort Lewis College.
