Box Score The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team continued its perfect season on Monday when it beat Fort Lewis 19-10 for its 10th straight win. The Lady Lions are now 5-0 and in first place in the conference.
After a slow start, Lindenwood pulled away comfortably in the second half.
Justiene Groothuis fueled the Lindenwood attack with a team-high six goals and an assist on the day. She also tallied three draw controls and a groundball. Three of Groothuis's goals came on free position shots, where she was 3-for-4 in the game.
A pair of other Lady Lions also had big days offensively.
Maddi Ossello and
Melissa Smith scored four goals apiece.
Melissa Menchella (two goals),
Lindsey Palmer (two), and
Shelby Polk (one) rounded out the scoring for Lindenwood.
Goalie
Christine Hehmeyer made nine saves on 19 shots on goal on her way to another win.
The Lady Lions will try to remain undefeated on Tuesday when they take on Adams State.
