Box Score The Lady Lions lacrosse team lost a heartbreaker on Saturday to fifth-ranked Rollins by a score of 13-12. The loss ends Lindenwood's perfect season and puts the team at 12-1 this year.
At one point, the Lady Lions held a three goal lead in the second half. After leading for more than 20 minutes total, Lindenwood allowed the last three goals of the game and lost by one.
Shelby Polk led the way offensively for Lindenwood with four goals, but was disqualified with 10 minutes remaining in the second half after her second yellow card of the game. Polk also added an assist and won four draw controls.
Melissa Smith scored a hat trick and caused two turnovers, while teammate
Justiene Groothuis netted two goals of her own in the loss.
The Lady Lions won the draw control battle 15-12 but gave up five goals on free-position shots.

Christine Hehmeyer (12-1) played all 60 minutes and made four saves in her first loss of the season.
Lindenwood is back in action on Thursday April 18th at home against Regis.
