The Lindenwood track and field teams were in action at two meets this weekend, competing at the Kansas Relays and the Dewey Allgood Invitational.
At the Kansas Relays, five Lindenwood relay teams finished in the top-10 of their respective races, led by the women's 1600m sprint medley team which was runner-up. The women's distance medley team was sixth and the women's 4x400 relay team came in tenth. On the men's side, the men's 4x1 mile team was seventh, and the distance medley relay squad was eighth.
Individually,
Jessica Ecker led Lindenwood by coming in fourth in the javelin.
Tanya Chibanda came in seventh in the women's 1500m to lead Lindenwood's runners. The top men's finisher was
Mike Reynoso who came in 16th in the 400m hurdles.
At the Dewey Allgood Invitational in Rolla, Mo.,
Lindsey Blackwell and
Tristan Phillips both won individual titles. Blackwell won the discus, and also finished second in the hammer and the shot put. Phillips won the men's javelin title.
Bryan Kertz had two top-three finishes in the discus and hammer.
Michelle Kyle was runner-up in the discus and
Chelsea Smith was third in the hammer.
Lindenwood is back in action next weekend at the Drake Relays, its final tuneup before the MIAA Championships.
