The Lindenwood men's and women's track and field teams took to the University of Central Missouri Invitational Friday night. The women finished in second place with 98 points while the men came in sixth place with 41 points.
The event saw Pitt State, Emporia State, and Missouri S&T in addition to Lindenwood and host UCM competing at the UCM Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg, Mo.
The women had several stand outs during the event, especially in the distance running events. Junior distance runner
Courtney Heidorn got Lindenwood off to a successful start with a win in the mile run event. She completed the mile in 5:33.94.
Junior Terah Fullman followed her fellow distance runners lead and took home the victory for the 800 meter run. Fullman won with a time of 2:16.55. In the 3000 meter run, freshman standout
Ann Tum Cherotich earned the win with a time 10:34.83.
On the men's side of things
Mike Reynoso crossed the finish line first in the 600 yard run with his time of 1:14.21.
In the 4x440 yard relay event the men's relay team of
Brannon Wright,
Kevin Brown, and
Jonas Kehrbaum, and Reynoso came in third out of 13 teams with a time of 3:37.61
The next event for the men's and women's track and field teams is Jan. 31 at the Principia Relays in Principia, Ill.
