After a week off from events, the Lindenwood women's and men's track teams were back in action at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge in Columbia, Mo.
The women got off to a fast start in the women's weight throw event. Junior
Lindsey Blackwell continued to be one of the standouts in the track events. Blackwell made a final throw of 17.01m which was good enough for third place out of 18 throwers.
In the men's weight throw, Lindenwood had another solid performance. Junior
Bryan Kertz came in third place in the event with a final round throw of 16.14m. The throw in the finals was Kertz's best out of seven throws he made in the event.
Lindenwood had a great showing in the women's triple jump. Freshmen
Kendra Smith and
Joy Kanengiser finished second and third, respectively. Smith had a jump of 11.18m while Kanengiser completed a jump recorded at 10.99m.
Terah Fullman continued to run well for the women's track team. Fullman won the 800m run with her time of 2:14.38.
In the mile run event, freshman
Nicholas Stewart lost by a photo finish with his time of 4:21.74 just behind the first place runner from
Missouri who recorded a time of 4:21.74.Â
Lindenwood's track teams will be back in action Feb. 28-Mar. 2 at the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Missouri Southern in Joplin, Mo.
