Track and Field Impresses At Missouri Invitational

The Lindenwood men's and women's track and field teams were in action Friday at the 2014 Missouri Invitational hosted by the University of Missouri at the Hearnes Center in Columbia, Mo.

Sophomore Aaryn Edge got the Lady Lions off to a quick start with a second-place finish in the 5000m run with her time of 19:23.24.

Lindsey Blackwell, coming off an excellent meet last week, stood out once against with her finish in third place out of 19 throwers in the women's weight throw with a distance of 16.78m.

Nicholas Stewart represented for the men with a third place finish in the one mile run with his time of 4:25.38. Brady Novak came in sixth in the same event with 27 runners he had a time of 4:27.51.

Jonas Kerhbraum came in third in the 400m dash just barely missing out on second place with his time of 50.70 seconds.

In the women's pole vault, Claire Buckman had yet another impressive performance with a final round height of 3.50m. Buckman's qualifying score was 3.95m the second highest vault in the event.

Lastly in the 60m hurdles, freshman Kevin Brown finished in third place with his time of 8.42 seconds.

The teams will return to action in two weeks on Feb. 21 again in Columbia, Mo. at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge.
