The Lindenwood track and field team finished eighth at the OVC Championships which concluded this weekend in Little Rock. Lilly Peters and Kendall Klewer took the top two spots in Javelin.

SEMO grabbed the gold with a total of 164 points, followed by Eastern Illinois and Tennessee Tech.

MEET OVERVIEW
Mireya Simpson helped the Lions get on the board with a mark of 1.58m in the High Jump, finishing eighth.

Christelle Barafundi set an outdoor PR jumping 5.73m, taking sixth and securing a trio of points.

Simpson and Oliver kept the momentum going into the 100m finals, both setting PR's again. Simpson took bronze with a time of 14.18, while Oliver came in eighth with a time of 14.83.

The team of Mary Elliott, Chanel Honeywell, Kristen Hendricks, and Christelle Barafundi crossed the line in 47.07, taking eighth and earning a point.
Chanel Honeywell finished fifth in the 200m with a time of 24.36.

Lindenwood earned the majority of its points in the Javelin. Lilly Peters finished first with a mark of 46.56m, while Kendall Klewer came in just behind her finishing second at 46.25m. Josey Roe took fourth, throwing 42.48m.

OTHER NOTEABLES
Kadence Berry set a six second PR in the 1500m Prelims with a time of 4:51.71, finishing 14^th. Ashantae Brown recorded a season best in the prelims of the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:05.50.

Mireya Simpson and Taylor Oliver both set PR's in the 100m Hurdles Prelims with times of 14.28 and 14.90, finishing third and eighth respectively and punching their ticket to the finals.

Chanel Honeywell, Kristen Hendricks, and Neo Bourne all recorded new PR's in the 100m with times of 11.77, 12.11, and 12.23.
