The Lady Lions tennis team competed against student-athletes from Maryville, UMSL, and Truman in a flight tournament this past weekend.

Anna Barbasheva reached the semi-finals in flight A for singles with straight-set victories over UMSL and Maryville. She fell to the top player from UMSL with a score of 6-4, 6-1. Barbasheva's impressive play improved her singles record to 6-2. Gloria Marras made the consolation finals with two victories before losing to a player from UMSL.

In flight B, Rebeca Aguilar and Alexis McCarthy both arrived in the consolation finals to play against each other, but elected not to.

Aguilar and McCarthy paired up in flight B doubles and won the consolation with an 8-6 victory over Truman.

The Lady Lions end its fall season in Springfield, Ill. in a match against University of Illinois-Springfield this Friday.
