Both of Lindenwood's track and field teams travelled to Memphis, Tenn. to compete in the Rhodes College Invitational for their first outdoor event of the year.

For the women,
Shamela Gray won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.74. Gray wasn't done, winning the 400-meter hurdles as well, with a time of 1:03.36. Lindsey Chapa wasn't far behind, finishing third in the 400-meter hurdles.
Maya Mason finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.95.
Jennifer Carter finished sixth in the 800 meter with a time of 2:21.72. Mason and Gray teamed with
Michaela Mason and
Jerelle Jones to finish second in the 400-meter relay with a time of 3:57.41.
Lindsey Blackwell would continue her momentum from the indoor season, by winning the discus throw with a distance of 44.48 meters. Blackwell dominated in the hammer throw, sending the hammer an invitational best 53.81 meters, the person that finished second threw the hammer five meters less. Blackwell proved that she is better than most people at throwing things, by winning the shot put as well with a distance of 12.85 meters.
Chelsea Smith finished third, by throwing 45.27 meters. Freshman
Zori Holman finished second in the high jump, with a height of 1.68 meters.

For the men, the 100-meter relay team finished second with a time of 42.29.
Brannon Wright found his way into the top-5 in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.14, while
Michael Mlambo was right on his tail, finishing sixth. Wright would also finish fourth in the 200. Mlambo would show his athleticism by winning the long jump, by leaping 6.65 meters.
Xavier Boland finished second in the pole vault with a height of 4.70 meters.
Bryan Kertz threw the discus 50.94 meters, good enough for third in the invitational. Kertz came in third again in the hammer throw, after throwing a 48.36.
