Lindenwood's track and field teams travelled to Edwardsville, Ill. to compete in the SIUE Gateway Invite. The men's team finished fourth out of the eight teams, and the women finished fifth.
Standing out for the men was
Xavier Boland, who won the pole vault by clearing a height of 4.70 meters in the finals.
Bryan Kertz and
Deondra Canaday continued to finish first and second in the discus throw. Canaday won the shot put with a distance of 17.24 meters in the final.
Ernesto Garcia finished third in the 400, with a time of 51.23.
Kelvin Lau finished third in the 800 with a time of 1:59.24.
Leading the way for the women was
Joy Kanengiser, who triple jumped 11.01 meters in the final.
Lindsey Blackwell finished second in the discus throw with a distance of 43.38 meters in the finals. Blackwell finished third in the hammer throw with a distance of 59.75 meters. Blackwell added to her impressive day, by finishing fourth in shot put.
Coming up next for the track and field teams are the Drake Relays on April 23rd in Des Moines, Iowa.
