The Lindenwood track and field teams participated in the Northern Illinois Huskie Open on Saturday. The competition was the last chance for the Lions and Lady Lions to set NCAA qualifying marks.
Â
The biggest improvement came from
Bryan Kertz in the discus. He added over a meter to his season-best throw with a mark of 52.27m. That mark would have him in the top-15 in the nation on last week's performance list.
Â
Lindenwood won two events at the event. On the women's side,
Kimberly Klenke captured the pole vault event. For the men,
Brannon Wright won the 200m race.
Â
The Lions finished third in the team standings with 42 points, and the Lady Lions were third with 62.5 points.
Â
Lindenwood will conclude its season on May 21-23 at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Allendale, Mich.
