Several past and current Lindenwood athletes left their mark on the 2015 Pan-American Games, concluded July 26 in Toronto.

One of the best performances came from 2014 graduate Fernando Reis, who captured the gold medal in the men's weightlifting 105+ kg division for his home country on July 15.The Brazilian native set a Pan-Am Games record in all three categories with a 192 kg lift in the snatch, a 235 kg lift in the clean and jerk, and a total of 427 kg.

Dustin Perry, who was part of the national championship shooting team in 2012 and 2013, won a silver medal in men's skeet for the USA on July 19.Perry was tied for fourth with 48 out of 50 after the first day of competition, and was tied for fifth with 119 out of 125 after the second day of preliminaries.After advancing to the finals in a shoot-off, he hit 15 targets in the semifinals to advance to the gold medal match against fellow American Thomas Bayer.Perry hit 14 targets to Bayer's 16 in the finals.

Incoming women's rugby player
Richelle Stephens won a silver medal with Team USA in women's rugby 7's competition on July 12.The Fallbrook, Calif., native didn't get a huge amount of playing time during the tournament, but did score a try during the 71-0 win over Mexico in the fourth game of pool play.The Americans posted a 4-1 record, the only defeat coming at the hands of Team Canada 34-12.The U.S. faced the Canadians in the gold medal match, but fell 55-7.

Returning Lindenwood senior
Mary Killman won the bronze medal in synchronized swimming team competition on July 11.Team USA finished third in the team technical event with a score of 82.6018, then posted a score of 83.4333 in the team final to finish third behind Mexico in second, and first place Team Canada.

Lori Eaton, recent 2014 graduate and current graduate student Anouk Eman competed with partner Kyra Hoevertsz in duet competition.After posting a score of 74.4087 for eighth place in the duet tech round, the duo improved to 76.4333, for seventh place in the duet free finals.Although it wasn't good enough for a medal, it was good enough to qualify for the FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia, which began with opening ceremonies on July 24.Killman is also in the event for Team USA.The synchronized swimming portion of the World Championships concludes on August 1.

Four other Lindenwood student-athletes represented their country at the 2015 Pan-Am Games.Casey Wallace, who earned both an undergraduate and graduate degree, and current Lion
Myles Walker, shot for Team USA in men's trap.Walker started strongly on day one, hitting 47 out of 50 targets to sit in first place, but finished day two on July 14 with 111 out of 125 to finish ninth. Wallace was 10
th after the first two rounds, but moved up to eighth overall with a total of 112 out of 125.Neither shooter advanced to the finals.

In bowling competition, senior
Cristian Azcona represented Puerto Rico, and senior
Rodolfo Madriz represented Costa Rica.Doubles competition took place July 22-23.Madriz partnered with James Stanley to finish sixth.Madriz averaged 211.9 while Stanley averaged 208.9.Azcona averaged 203.8 and partner Jean Perez averaged 209.9 for an eighth place finish.In singles, Azcona fired 2,486 for a 207.2 average and ninth place while Madriz totaled 2,372 for a 197.7 average and 16
th place.Neither bowler advanced to the finals.
The 2015 Pan-American Games consisted of 41 countries from the Americas competing in 48 different sports from July 10-26.The United States led the medal count with 265 overall, comprised of 103 gold, 81 silver, and 81 bronze.Canada finished second with 217 medals (78 gold, 69 silver, 70 bronze), while Brazil was third with 141 medals (41 gold, 40 silver, 60 bronze).
