The Lindenwood men's and women's track and field team traveled to Jacksonville, Ill. to compete in the Jim Green Invitational on Saturday. Both the men's and women's teams had successful performances, as both teams finished the day with the most points earned out of the competing teams. The men's team finished with a total of 71 points, edging out second-place Lindenwood-Belleville's total of 65.50. The women's team finished with 116 points, which was 21 points in front of second-place William Woods. Â
Kendra Smith,
Joy Kanengiser, and
Taylor Gibson all had impressive performances in the women's triple jump event. Smith won the event with a jump of 11.72m, Kanengiser placed third with a best distance of 10.46m, and Gibson came in sixth-place with a best distance of 10.03m.

Vanessa Cook placed second in the women's shot put event with a best throw of 11.60m, followed by
Chelsea Smith and
Kearstin Cantrell who placed sixth and 12th, respectively.
Michelle Kyle, C. Smith, and Cook placed 1-3 in the weight throw event. Kyle registered a best throw of 17.33m.

Skylar Ragland and Haily Fink earned third and fourth-place finishes in the pole vault event.
Zori Holman placed second in the high jump.

Lisa Feuerherdt placed third in the one-mile run.
Maya Mason finished in third-place in the 400 meter dash.
Linsey Chapa and
Jennifer Carter also had impressive performances in the event.
Jerelle Jones finished in second-place in the 200 meter dash, while also coming in fourth-place in the 60 meter dash.Â
Aaryn Edge finished fifth in the 5000 meter run.

The women's 4x100 relay team of Jones, Mason, Chapa, and
Michaela Mason took first-place in the event.

For the men,
Deondra Canaday finished second in the shot put with a best throw of 15.75m. Alex Armstrong has a best throw of 13.65m in the shot put event, good enough for a sixth-place finish. Armstrong also placed third in the weight throw event, while Canaday again took second-place.
Ryan Hermann also competed in the weight throw and placed third in his flight with a top distance of 15.48m.

Bryce Tognozzi competed in the pole vault event, placing second, fourth, and sixth.Â

Akintunde Akinyemi finished in second in the high jump event.
Joshua Newman placed second in the 200 meter dash, while also coming in third in the 400 meter dash. Lavorie Johnson placed second in the 60 meter dash, while
Jaron Alexander finished fourth. Kevin Lau earned a seventh-place finish in the 800 meter run.

The men's and women's track and field teams will return to action during a two-day event in Pittsburg, Kan. on Feb. 12-13. Â
