The Lindenwood men's and women's track and field teams finished up competition at the Washington University Mini Meet on Friday night in St. Louis, Mo.
Along with
Vanessa Cook winning the discus for the women,
Chelsea Smith placed third and
Kearstin Cantrell finished ninth in the event with throws of 40.68m and 27.38m, respectively. Smith also finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 49.69m, as Cantrell, Cook, and Kyle placed fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively.
On the men's shot put,
Deondra Canaday won the event with a best throw of 16.17m, as Alex Armstrong finished fourth.
Taylor Gibson finished third in both of the women's long jump and triple jump. Her 5.13m mark in the long jump was only .01m away from the second-place finisher.
Lindenwood took both high jump events, asÂ
Akintunde Akinyemi and
Zori Holman jumped 2.04m and 1.64m, respectively.
Michael Mlambo won the long jump event with a best of 7.24m, while
Xavier Boland finished second in the pole vault.
Both teams compete next on April 1 and 2 at the Washington Invitational in St. Louis, Mo.
