The Lindenwood women's tennis team took care of business against MIAA-rival Fort Hays, sweeping all nine matches on Thursday afternoon.
Â
The Lady Lions hardly had any trouble in doubles as each team only allowed three games or less. At No. 1,
Anna Barbasheva and
Rebeca Aguilar coasted by with an 8-1 score.
Gloria Marras and
Clara Piccamiglio paired up to win at No. 2 doubles by a dominating score of 8-1.
Daria Ivanova and
Alexis McCarthy capped off at No. 3 with an 8-2 victory.
Â
In singles, Barbasheva won a nail-biter as she needed a third set tiebreaker to seal the deal at No. 1. The rest of the five singles players won in straight sets including a 6-0, 6-1 win by Aguilar at No. 6 and a 6-2, 6-1 route by Piccamiglio at No. 3.
Â
The Lady Lions will travel to the University of Nebraska Kearney's courts on Saturday for another conference matchup starting at 10 am. Â
