The Lindenwood track and field teams finished competition at three events on Saturday, as the Drake Relays, Kip Janvrin Open, and True Blue Final at Illinois College all came to an end.
At Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa,
Lisa Feuerherdt and
Linsey Chapa both placed sixth in their respective events. Feuerherdt finished the 800m in 2:16.68, while Chapa ran the 400m hurdles in 1:03.418.
In Des Moines, Iowa at the Drake Relays, the men's distance medley relay team finished in seventh place with a 10:13.53 mark in the event.
Michael Mlambo placed 12th in the long jump with a mark of 6.88m.
Kendra Smith hit another provisional mark in the triple jump, having a best of 12.20m for fifth place.
Lindenwood had four of the top five finishers in the women's hammer throw at Illinois College.
Michelle Kyle won the event with a mark of 51.68m, while
Chelsea Smith placed second.
Vanessa Cook and
Kearstin Cantrell finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Cook and Smith also placed second and third, respectively, in the discus.
Deondra Canaday hit a provisional mark in the men's hammer, winning the event with a best of 54.39m. Canaday placed second in the discus with a mark of 49.08m.
Alex Armstrong placed fourth in the javeline throw. The freshman had a best of 45.90m in the event.
The teams will be competing next weekend at the MIAA Outdoor Championships in Maryville, Mo.
