The Lindenwood track and field student-athletes competing at nationals wrapped up competition on Saturday from Bradenton, Fla.
Xavier Boland completed his pole vault performance on the final day, while
Michael Mlambo finished Thursday and
Kendra Smith competed on Friday.
Mlambo placed 15th in the field of 19 in the men's long jump competition. The sophomore ended the season with a mark of 7.21m in the event, which was .21m away from All-American status.
On Friday, Smith looked to improve upon her fourth-place performance in the indoor triple jump at the national meet. However, Smith finished 16th overall with a best of 12.10m, just short of her seed mark heading into the meet.
Boland finished the whole competition for Lindenwood on Saturday when he took his place in the pole vault competition. Unfortunately, the sophomore recorded no height in the 19-person event that began at 4.83m.
Both Boland and Smith earned national appearances in each of the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2016, as Smith finished fourth in indoor and Boland placed ninth in the same event.
