The Lindenwood women's tennis team competed at the UMSL Fall Tournament on Friday and Saturday in St. Louis, Mo. Lindenwood had four players advance to the quarterfinals of the A singles draw, while
Dana Minakova won the B singles draw for Lindenwood.
Anna Barbasheva,
Laura Castro Milan,
Savannah Martin, and
Tereza Melicharkova each won their first-round matches in the A singles draw for Lindenwood.
Alexis McCarthy and
Dana Minakova each advanced to the semifinals of the B singles draw. McCarthy fell in her semifinal match, while Minakova advanced to the finals. In the finals, Minakova outlasted her opponent to secure the victory and earn the B singles title.
Kylie McCarthy lost her first match in the B singles draw, but was able to post consecutive victories in the consolation rounds.
Barbasheva and Melicharkova went 2-1 during doubles competition, before falling in the finals of the A doubles draw.
Castro Milan and K. McCarthy advanced to the finals of the B doubles bracket, but were defeated 8-1 in the match.
The Lions will travel to Kansas City, Mo. on Oct. 14 for a dual match with Rockhurst.
