The Lindenwood women's tennis team continued its spring break trip after falling to Northeastern State by a final score of 8-1 on Saturday. The Lady Lions defeated Seton Hill 6-3 and lost to the University of Mobile 5-4 earlier in the week.
Clara Piccamiglio was the only player to collect a victory against Northeastern State, winning her singles match in the No. 4 slot by a final score of 6-4, 6-0.
The Lady Lions prevailed in two doubles contests and four singles matches in the win over Seton Hill. At No. 1 doubles,
Tereza Melicharkova and Piccamiglio routed their opponents by an 8-3 score while
Anna Barbasheva and
Rebeca Aguilar also won 8-3 at No. 2. Melicharkova, Piccamiglio, Aguilar, and
Alexis McCarthy coasted their singles matches easily, winning in straight sets at No. 1, 3, 5, and 6 respectively.
In a tightly-contested battle that lasted two days due to rain against Mobile, the Lady Lions lured in wins at No. 2, 3, and 4 singles and No. 2 doubles.
The Lady Lions will conclude its road trip against Central Oklahoma tomorrow at 10 am.
