The Lindenwood women's team almost escaped with a victory over Washburn on Friday evening before falling 5-4 in St. Charles, Mo. The men dropped their match, 7-2.
The ladies took No. 3 doubles as their lone victory before singles competition.
Haya Hamed and
Alexis McCarthy won 8-5 over Washburn's Madison Lysaught and Ally Burr.
After Tereza Melicharkova retired in No. 1 singles, the women won No. 3, No. 4, and No. 6 singles. After dropping the first set, No. 3 Hamed controlled the rest of the match to win sets two and three, 6-1 and 6-3, respectively. No. 6
Diana Castro also dropped the first set of her match, but won 6-0 and 6-4 in the final two frames.

Clara Piccamiglio dominated in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-2.
Rebeca Aguilar lost close sets in No. 5 singles, 6-3 and 6-4.
Anna Barbasheva won the first set of No. 2 singles, 6-3, but dropped the final two frames 7-5.
The men were swept in doubles competition, but found success at the top for singles. No. 1
Filip Bogic won 6-3 in the second and third set to reign victorious, while No. 2 Naoufal El Idrissi went 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to complete the only wins for the men on the day.

Michele Gaspari (6-4, 6-4),
Antoine Barraud (6-1, 6-0), and Jesus Leal (6-0, 6-2) each lost in straight sets.
The loss sends the women to 6-10 on the season, while the men fall to 6-8. Each team will look to get into the win column on Sunday when Rockhurst travels to St. Charles for a 12 p.m. start time.
