The Lindenwood men's and women's track and field competed for the second day at the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kan on Friday afternoon. The three-day event began on Thursday and will conclude on Saturday.
During the competition on Thursday, Lindenwood's
Xavier Boland secured a program record and a first-place finish in the men's pole vault competition. Boland surpassed his previous record 5.11 set at the John Creer Invitational on April 1, with a new record-setting mark of 5.21.
Kendra Smith highlighted the performances for Lindenwood during Friday's competition, taking third place in the women's triple jump. Smith posted a distance of 12.32m, the second-best mark of her career and the seventh-highest in program history.
Several athletes competed in preliminary heats for the men's and women's teams throughout the day.
