Lindenwood track and field athletes won two events on Saturday at the prestigious Drake Relays.
Omar Es Salmouny won the 3,000m steeplechase and the men's distance medley relay team also took first.

Es Salmouny ran a time of 9:04.19, nearly two seconds better than runner-up Andrew Milliron of Air Force. He took the lead on lap seven and was able to pull away from there. The distance medley team of
Colin Cernik,
Hunter Drew,
Zach McKinley, and
Ero Doce finished with a time of 10:08.80, which won the college division. They also had a big comeback, going from eighth place to first in the final 1600m.

Kendra Smith finished fifth in the triple jump, including second among non-Division I jumpers. Her final mark was 12.34m. Also at the event,
Michael Mlambo came in 16th in the long jump, and the men's 4x800 relay team came in 12th in the college division.

The track and field teams will compete in the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships next week in Bolivar, Mo.
