The Lindenwood women's tennis team cruised to a 7-2 win over fort Hays State on Saturday at home.
In doubles, the Lady Lions fell behind 2-1 with the lone victory coming at No. 2. The tandem of
Anna Barbasheva and
Rebeca Aguilar worked together for an 8-4 win.
The Lady Lions coasted through singles thereafter, sweeping Fort Hays State. Barbasheva,
Haya Hamed, and
Diana Castro each needed three sets to collect victories at No. 1, 2, and 4 respectively.
Clara Piccamiglio took down her opponent at No. 3 behind a 6-2, 6-1 score while Aguilar had little trouble getting through her opponent, blanking her 6-0, 6-0.
Alexis McCarthy competed at No. 6 and picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win.
After improving to 9-12 on the season, the Lady Lions return to action tomorrow as they take on Nebraska-Kearney alongside the men's team at 10 a.m. from Lindenwood's tennis courts.
