Women's rugby capped off its fall season with a 52-14 victory over the STARS invitational women's travel team Sunday afternoon at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Missouri.
The Lions used a balanced offensive attack with 10 different players dotting down in the contest including
Alicia Barry, Jessica Laughlin,
Morgan Courtney, Nohea Uluave, Isabella DeVore, Kiarah Mosley,
Kodi Barlow,
Destiny Arena, Emily Morris, and Joannah Skucek. Uluave also slotted a conversion for two points.
Head Coach
Billy Nicholas thanked the STARS for making their annual trip to Lindenwood.
"We appreciate the STARS coming out for our annual match as I know the experiences for players from both teams are truly valued and it's always competitive for everyone," he said. "With some of our alumni playing with the STARS in the past, it's great to have that relationship continue to grow.
"This was a great chance for us to mix people around and work through various combinations for us. We had some great forward leadership and a relatively young backline with the majority of our athletes being freshmen or sophomores. It was a great chance for them to showcase what they can do and the future is very bright!"
The women's rugby first XV concludes the fall campaign with an unblemished mark of 6-0. The Lions will return to action February 23 when they host Central Washington in a Division I Elite match beginning at 11 a.m. at Hunter Stadium. Lindenwood shutout the Wildcats 60-0 in an earlier meeting in October.
