The Lindenwood women's tennis team dropped a dual match to the Central Oklahoma Bronchos on Sunday afternoon in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions were defeated by a final score of 8-1.
Lindenwood's lone victory on the day came at No. 1 doubles.
Anna Barbasheva and
Tereza Melicharkova teamed up for the victory, securing an 8-6 decision.
"I am pleased with the way we competed against a very good team," said Lindenwood head tennis coach
Nicolai Nonnenbroich. "The win at No. 1 doubles was a big confidence boost. Being able to consistently fight from beginning to end against a team like UCO is a good sign that our culture shift is successfully happening."
Following the loss, the Lions move to 1-8 and 0-2 in the MIAA during dual matches for the season. Lindenwood will return to action on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. during a dual match with Maryville from the Lindenwood Tennis Courts in St. Charles, Mo.
