The Lindenwood chess team posted solid results at the 22
nd Annual Mid-America Open March 24-25 at the Clayton Plaza Hotel in Clayton, Missouri.
Nicholas Rosenthal emerged as the top Lion with a first place finish in the U2300 division. The Lindenwood junior earned 3.5 points in the major section to claim eighth overall. He was the only player in the top 10 that was not a Grand Master.
Nam Nguyen claimed four points out of five to finish sixth and Jeffrey Kendall took three points to finish 24
th out of 73 competitors in the U1250 section.
The chess team returns to action at the Bill Wright St. Louis Open April 6-8 at the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis. Competition begins at 7 p.m. Friday night.  Â
