The Lindenwood women's tennis team defeated Missouri Western in a dual match on Friday afternoon from the Lindenwood Tennis Courts in St. Charles, Mo. Lindenwood's 5-4 decision marked its second-consecutive MIAA victory.
Lindenwood earned two victories during doubles competition, and held a 2-1 lead as the match headed towards singles play.
Haya Hamed and
Savannah Martin secured the win at No. 2 doubles, while
Dana Minakova and
Laura Castro Milan earned the win at the No. 3 pairing.
The Lions and Griffins split the six singles matches, with Lindenwood earning wins out of the No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 contests. Minakova won the deciding match at No. 4 to give Lindenwood the win.
Following the win, Lindenwood improves to 3-7 overall and 2-2 from within the MIAA. The Lions will return to action tomorrow afternoon for a dual match with Northwest Missouri State.
