The Lindenwood women's tennis team defeated the Fort Hays State Tigers by a score of 6-3 on Saturday afternoon from Great Bend, Kan.
The Lions opened the match with victories in two of the three doubles matches.
Anna Barbasheva and
Tereza Melicharkova teamed up for a win at the No. 1 pairing, while
Dana Minakova and
Laura Castro Milan earned the victory out of the No. 3 slot.
During singles competition, Lindenwood won four of the six singles matches to earn the match victory. Barbasheva won at No. 1 singles,
Haya Hamed won at No. 2 singles, and Minakova posted a victory at the No. 3 position.
Savannah Martin had the other win during singles completion at the No. 5 spot.
Following the victory, Lindenwood improves to 4-9 on the season and 3-4 in MIAA play. The Lions will return to action on April 11 in Springfield, Mo. for a dual match with Northeastern State.
