Five women's wrestlers place in the top six at the Dr. Bob Kellogg Open November 2 at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Angelique Terrones-Cruz turned in the top performance for the Lions, earning third place in the 116 lb. division.  After receiving a bye in the opening round, she defeated Abby Eisenbeis from North Central College by technical fall.  After losing an 8-4 decision to Katherine Sumner from McKendree in the semifinals, she rebounded with a technical fall victory over Gabrielle Grimes from Missouri Valley College in the consolation semifinals.  In the third place match, she pinned Emily Fergeson from York College at 0:25.

Three wrestlers finished in fourth place.  Competing in the 123 lb. class, Jasmine Ward lost her opening round match to Madison Ruckdashel from Lakeland University, but then pinned Tanaily Lopez from Missouri Baptist University at 3:58 in consolation round two.  She followed that with another win by pin at 4:16 over Emma De Brum from Lyon College and a technical fall victory over Bailey Theel from York College in the consolation semifinals, before losing to Ashley Whetzal from Lyon College in the third place match. 

Valerie Gayton also took fourth in the 191 lb. class.  After losing to Joanna Hendricks from Waldorf University, she rebounded to pin Angelina Kirkpatrick from North Central College in the consolation semifinal, but lost to Mahealani Ramirez from Missouri Valley College in the third place match.  Maya Shimizu took fourth in the 170 lb. class after losing her third place match to Lacey Jung-Michonski from Adrian College. 

Wrestling in the 101 lb. division, Madisen Alvardo finished in sixth place after losing to Alyssa Sequiria from Central Christian College in the fifth place match. 

Six other Lions competed at the event including Valerie Mamleeva (116 lbs.), Sydney Ward (130 lbs.), Trinity Williamson (136 lbs.), Natalie Cregger (136 lbs.), Belle Erhardt (143 lbs.), and Kiersten Noonan (155 lbs.), but did not place.
