The Lindenwood men's and women's indoor track and field teams each finished fifth in the team scoring at the UCM Invitational in Warrensburg, MO on Friday night. Sophomore
Ben Stasney and junior
Samuel Yaro were the top performers for the Lions. Stasney won the Mile run with a time of 4:24.40, while Yaro's 1:12.36 was tops in the 600 yard run.
Other highlights on the night for the men's team included senior
Austin Crowe who finished only seconds behind teammate Stasney in the Mile run with a time of 4:25.11, good enough for second place. Newcomer
Dorian Leda won his heat in the 200 meters, but finished fourth overall with a time of 23:07, with the top four runners separated by only 0.1 seconds.
On the women's side junior
Nicole Barton finished 2nd in the pole vault with a NCAA provision height of 3.66 meters, which is her highest mark of the young season.
Rachael Morrison out leaned a Southwest Baptist runner to finished 2nd in the 800 meters with a time of 2:22.66 while
Emily Montgomery finished fourth in the weight throw (16.01m).
The Lions return to the track next Friday and Saturday at the Principia Relays.
