Lindenwood shotgun sports earned several individual trophies at National Trap Day October 10 at the Gateway Gun Club in Hazelwood, Missouri. The Lions competed in the 16-yard singles event and the doubles event.
Senior captain
Chase Cunningham topped the leaderboard with a perfect score of 100 in the singles event to earn the A Class Championship. Freshman
Jolene Dawson took the Lady singles trophy with 98/100. Other notable performances included
Ryan Loveless and
Marcus Reed, each with 99/100.
Sean Laurent,
Bret Crigler,
Shawn Hale, and
Morgan Baine rounded out the top team scores, each with 98/100.
Three team members participated in the handicap event.
Ashleigh Painter scored 89/100 and won the Lady trophy. Loveless and Dawson also competed and had 88/100 and 87/100 respectively.
In the doubles event, Cunningham posted the team high score with 95/100.
Christina Byrd was second for Lindenwood and earned the Lady trophy with 94/100. Painter won B Class with 91/100 and Dawson earned C Class with 89/100. Laurent broke 88/100 to secure the D Class award. Loveless again added to the top Lindenwood squad with a score of 90/100.
