Shotgun sports took 10 team members to compete at the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) Championship October 22-25 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas.

Freshman
Reece Sparks led the Lions in the Main Event with a score of 273/300, which placed him sixth in the Junior event. Following three targets behind was sophomore
Sam Korbs, who took 10th overall in the Junior event. Senior
Michael Blazek finished with a score of 256/300, and freshman
Matthew Blankenship posted 252/300. Â

In the International division of the Main Event, freshman
Tristan Stubbs hit 266/300 targets to finish second overall out of 38 competitors. Â

The Lions also competed in the K-Kup event where Sparks led Lindenwood with a score of 95/100. Korbs was right behind with 94/100, good enough to place 18th in the Junior event. Freshman
Harley Brasher poste 92/100 to win the B Class competition. Â

The final event of the weekend for the Lions was the Beretta Challenge Super Sporting Event. Korbs led the way with 93/100 to place seventh in the Junior event. Sparks and Stubbs followed with scores of 92/100 and 91/100 respectfully, placing Sparks in 11th and Stubbs in 13th for the Junior event. Â

Shotgun sports wraps up the fall campaign at the World Fitasc event November 12-15 at the Providence Hill Farm Shooting and Equestrian Complex in Jackson, Mississippi.
