The shotgun sports team edged Fort Hays State by tiebreaker in the High Overall team standings at the University of Missouri Tundra Shoot February 22-23 at Prairie Grove Shotgun Sports in Columbia, Missouri. The Lions and Tigers both totaled 1,412

targets, with Connors State College finishing a close third with 1,391 targets.
In skeet competition, six Lindenwood shooters hit 99/100, including
Sean Laurent,
Sam Korbs,
Grayson Helms,
Evan Mood,
Ethan Boyer, and
Brandon Stone. After the shoot-off, Stone won the individual title, followed by Mood in second.
Olivia Stecker hit 97/100 to win the women's competition, followed by
Christina Byrd in second with 96/100.
In sporting clays,
Lakota Adams,
Brennan Lirette, Korbs, and
Tim Minkel led the Lions with 91/100 targets. Stecker hit 85/100 to capture the women's title while Byrd hit 82/100 to finish third.
Lindenwood posted a great performance in trap, with
Shawn Hale taking the individual championship with 100/100.
Hannah Martin was one of six Lions to hit 99/100, which was good enough for the women's title. Mood, Boyer,
Patrick Hopson,
Chase Cunningham, and
Elijah Smith had the other scores of 99 for Lindenwood. Byrd took second in women's competition with 98/100.
In the High Overall individual standings, Mood and Korbs each totaled 285/300 with Mood taking third and Korbs fourth. Lirette hit 282/300 to earn ninth. Byrd did not win an event, but her steady performance was enough to earn the women's High Overall title with 276/300. Stecker finished second with 269/300.
The next major event on the schedule for shotgun sports is the ACUI Greater Midwest Conference Championship (GMWCC) at New Pioneer Gun Club in Waukee, Iowa.
