Shotgun Sports Sweeps Panther Classic

The shotgun sports team swept all six team titles on the way to the Team High Overall championship at the Panther Classic September 19-20 at the Bass Pro Shooting Academy in Ridgedale, Missouri.  The Lions hit 1,824 targets out of a possible 2,000 and also captured seven individual titles.

In the Sporting Clays event, Lindenwood hit 444 out of 500.  Ryan Loveless and Brandon Stone led the Lions with a score of 90/100.  Ethan Boyer (89) and Olivia Stecker (88) also contributed to the team score, with Chase Cunningham and Sean Laurent tying at 87. 

Lindenwood hit 370 out of 375 to take the Team Skeet title.  Boyer and Stecker posted perfect scores of 75, followed by Loveless and Stone with 74 each.  Chrissy Byrd and Laurent represented the final tally for the Lions, each with 72.

In Team Trap, Lindenwood totaled 356 out of 375, led by Boyer with a score of 73/75. Byrd, Laurent, and Bret Crigler each hit 71, followed by Cunningham and Loveless tied at 70.

Olivia Stecker Won Two Ladies Titles
at the Panther Classic

The Lions came within four targets of perfection in Team Wobble Trap with 246/250.  Lindenwood scores came from Crigler (50), Stecker (50), Boyer (49), Stone (49), and Curtis Wilkins (48).

In the Team Double Wobble Trap event, the Lions posted a score of 207/250.  Noah Gouge led Lindenwood with 43/50, followed by Marcus Reed (42), Cunningham and Ethan Mathias with 41 each, and Boyer (40).

In the final event, the Lions hit 213/250 in Team Five-Stand.  Top scores came from Stone (46), Laurent (44), Stecker (42), and Byrd (41).  Boyer, Loveless, and Chloe Turasky each tied with 40.

Ethan Boyer and Olivia Stecker each won two individual crowns.  Boyer took the Men's Skeet title with 75/75 and the Men's Trap title with 73/75.  Stecker won the Ladies Skeet event with 75/75 and the Ladies Wobble event with 50/50.  Chrissy Byrd won the Ladies Trap title with 71/75, Bret Crigler took the Men's Wobble crown with 50/50, and Brandon Stone captured the Men's Five-Stand title with 46/50.

In addition to Lindenwood, the Panther Classic included teams from Drury University, Hannibal – LaGrange, and Missouri S & T.

Shotgun sports travels to Lynn Creek, Missouri for the Missouri Fall Handicap U.S. Open September 23-27.
