The Lindenwood women's wrestling team opened its season this weekend at the Adrian College Open. The Lions had nine wrestlers finish fourth or better in their respective weight classes, while finishing in a tie for third as a team with 171.5 points in the tournament.
OVERVIEW
In the duals on day one, the Lions compiled a record of 3-1, defeating No. 10 Schreiner 20-19, Indiana Tech 30-12 and the Draw Team, 39-10.
In the tournament, the Lions compiled 21 pins, second most of any team, four behind Adrian College.Â
Cayden Condit finished in the top spot in the 123 pound weight class. The Littleton, Colo. native compiled one pin and three technical falls, spending just two minutes and 36 seconds on the mat.
At 136 pounds,
Athena Willden registered the most pins in the least amount of time, compiling four across six minutes and 29 seconds, earning a third-place finish.

Amanda McAleavey (116), and
Kaycee Fitero (191) also took third.
Alina Arana (191) and Sierra Hull (170),
Jasmine Ward (130),
Sara Lake (155) took fourth and Juliana Moreno took home eighth place.Â
