Lindenwood track & field closed competition today at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala. The men's 4x400 team finished in 3rd place in the finals on Saturday, as all four athletes earned All-American honors.
FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- Samuel Yaro and Armani Modeste were the lone Lindenwood competitors on Friday.
- Yaro finished 3rd in the 400m Prelims with a time of 47.73. Yaro, racing in Heat 2, finished 2nd in the heat, and was named a first-team All-American in the 400m for his performance.
- Yaro will race in the 400m Finals on Saturday at 2:20 p.m.
- Modeste finished just outside of the top-8, with a time of 48.40 in the event, earning himself 9th place.
- Modeste raced in Heat 1, coming in 3rd in the heat, and was named a second-team All-American for his showing.
- Damaine Dixon, Dorian Leda, Modeste, and Yaro will all race in the 4x400 tomorrow at 3:20 p.m. The quad will compete in Heat 2.
SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- Yaro raced in the 400m finals on Saturday after qualifying with a 3rd place finish on Friday in the prelims. Yaro finished 6th amongst the eight competitors with a 47.92 finals time.
- In the 4x400, Dixon, Leda, Modeste, and Yaro combined for a 3rd place time of 3:13.87, which was the best time among the six teams in the first two heats.
- Dixon, Leda, Modeste, and Yaro were all named first-team All-Americans in the 4x400.
- The men's track & field team finished 28th at the Championships with a score of nine points.
