No. 1 Women's Lacrosse Prepares For GLVC Championship Tournament

The No. 1 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team (12-0, 7-0 GLVC) has earned the top seed in the inaugural  GLVC women's lacrosse Championship Tournament. The Lions were one of four teams to earn a bid as the championship is set to begin on Friday from Lebanon, Ill.

Lindenwood enters the championship tournament with an unblemished 12-0 record, including a 7-0 mark inside conference play. During the regular season, the Lions outscored opponents 219-18, while averaging 18.25 goals per game, good for fifth highest in the nation. Lindenwood has also been stout defensively, surrendering just 6.92 goals per game, while causing 133 turnovers so far this season.

Three of Lindenwood's 12 wins have come over ranked opponents in No. 25 Colorado Mesa, No. 14 Regis and then No. 1 UIndy.  In the win over Regis, the Lions scored seven unanswered goals to help seal the victory.

The No. 1 seeded Lions will take on the No. 4 seed, Rockhurst Hawks.  Earlier this season, Lindenwood defeated the Hawks 18-9. In the win Erin McGuire led the way, compiling 10 points (2 G, 8 A) the Westminster, Md. native leads the team with 68 points across 12 games played,

The two winners of the semifinal games will advance to the GLVC Championship Tournament finals, which will take place on Sunday, May 2, beginning at 1:00 p.m. from Lebanon, Ill.
