SEASON REVIEW
The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team finished the season with a record of 17-1, capping off a historic season by winning the program's first-ever National Championship. The Lions concluded the season as the No. 1 team in the final IWLCA Coaches Poll.

The Lions began the season with 13 straight victories, outscoring opponents by a 235-89 margin.  Included in that stretch were three victories over ranked opponents, including a 12-10 win over then-No. 1 UIndy. The Lions scored in double-figures in every one of those matches, while surpassing the 20-goal plateau four times, and averaged 18.07 goals per game in that stretch.

The Greyhounds avenged the loss from earlier in the season, defeating the Lions by a score of 12-9 in the GLVC Tournament Championship game.  Lindenwood trailed 6-5 at halftime, but the Greyhounds scored the first four goals of the second half to help seal the victory.

Despite the loss, Lindenwood headed to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh-consecutive season, which is the longest current streak in Division II.

The Lions entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region and would face the Regis Rangers in the opening round. In the win over the Rangers, Lindenwood jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead and never looked back.  The Lions never trailed in the game, picking up a 14-9 victory

Lindenwood and UIndy met up for a third-time this season in the Midwest Regional Final. In the matchup on May 16, the Lions blitzed the Greyhounds early, going up 5-0 just over 13 minutes into the game.  After leading 8-3 at halftime, Lindenwood held on for a 17-13 victory.

The Lions advanced to the NCAA semifinals for the fifth time in program history, where Lindenwood would take on Roberts Wesleyan.  In the game against the Redhawks, Lindenwood took a quick 4-0 lead and would pick up the 12-9 victory behind four goals and two assists from Erin McGuire.

Lindenwood moved on to its first-ever National Championship game, as the Lions were set to take on the Queens Royals. After the game was tied 2-2 early on, the Lions went on a 10-3 scoring run to take a 12-5 lead into halftime.  Queens made a push in the second half, but the Lions held on for the 14-12 victory, winning their first National Championship in program history.

HIGHLIGHTS
Lindenwood hosted the Regis Rangers in the teams home-opener on February 27th.  In the game against the Rangers, Lindenwood trailed 9-6 with just under 20 minutes to go in the second half. The Lions managed to score the games next seven goals, taking the lead 13-9. The Lions would eventually pick up the 13-10 victory. Cam Holley made a career-high 10 saves in the win.
